About the Convention

Formerly Convention du Lac, the convention is Louisiana's premiere Comic Book and Popularized Culture Convention.  In 2009 the convention launched as a Sci-Fi convention and was held at the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex in Lake Charles.  2010 brought about new growth and new opportuinties as the festival moved downtown to the Civic Center.  2011 we are back with vengence as a brand new convention offering the best in entertainment in the south.

The SWLA Science Education Foundation

This non-profit organization was formed in 2009 as a basis for hosting the Sci-Fi convention in Lake Charles.  The organization's board members are comprised of individuls who share a common interest in Sci-Fi and related fields.  We welcome anyone interested in learning more to contact us about the organization or how to volunteer.
