What exactly is BayouCon?
BayouCon (formerly named Convention du Lac) is Southwest Louisiana's original and premiere fan produced convention taking place each summer in Lake Charles, La. BayouCon is a non profit organization operating under the legal name of the "Southwest Louisiana Science Education Foundation, Inc.". We are committed to providing a great fan produced convention for the folks of Southwest Louisiana.
What happened to Convention du Lac?
After the convention in 2010, a few of the staff members departed from this event. To respect the work that was done in establishing the event, we elected to change the name to something a little more appropriate for our area. Louisiana is known as the Bayou state and we are the Bayou Convention.
What can we expect at the convention?
BayouCon offers the very best in programming stemming from Anime, Comics, Science Fiction, Gaming, and more. Our programing is geared towards the fans and produced by fan groups actively participating in the convention. Many times the fan groups are costumers raising awareness for their particular franchise.
Why is there a fee to enter?
An admission fee is necessary to enter BayouCon and other similar events. The fee allows us to book a high class celebrity, rent the convention facility, and pay for expenses associated with producing this event. No one on staff receives a salary for their work, we are all volunteers
As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions. Send us an email and let us know how we are doing.
