BayouCon is looking for eager people interested in participating as a volunteer at the 2014 convention.  Volunteering is a rewarding process that gives you an opportunity to see how a convention operates.  Plus, you'll enjoy complmentary access to the event.  We have sevreral positions opened from registration to Convention operations.

Vounteers must sign up for a 4 hour or longer shift to receive complimentary access.  You will receive a badge showcasing your volunteer status.  After completion of your shift, you may redeem your badge for a 1 day badge; the volunteer badge must be surrendered at the conclusion of each day.  Failure to show up for your assign shift will be grounds for ejection from the convention, forfeiture of your pass, along with suspension of volunteer access in 2016.  All volunteer positions are for attendees ages 16 and older.

Here are our opportunities for 2015:

Registration - Help with checking in patrons, handling money, and giving badges where needed.  Also responsible for selling BayouCon branded merchandise.
Security (Badge Check) - Sit at assigned checkpoint requesting to see badges from eveyone entering.  You will also help to direct the flow of traffic inside the event if necessary.
A/V Technician - Responsible for ensuring correct audio and video equipment is available at each panel.  General knowledge of a sound system is preferred.
Table Top Gaming - Help with the running of table top card games as well as ensure no games leave the gaming area.
Video Gaming - Monitor gaming area and ensure equipment is not mistreated or strolen.
Programming - Maintain time for each panel showcasing the 5 minute warning.  You will also ensue the correct panel is occuring in the correct location.
Dealer's Room - Monitor Dealer's Room for badges.  You will also assist the Dealer's in procuring meals, if needed, or watching a booth for a quick break.  18+ only please
Setup (Thursday, June 18th) - The preemble to convention setup, you will help in convention layout and minor setup duties.  Those helping this day will receive a complimentary Saturday badge.
Setup (Friday, June 19th) - The main setup day and the most important part of the convention.  You will assist in setup, where needed, and assist Dealer's and Groups in their load-in.  We need several people to assist this day. 
Teardown (Sunday, June 21st) - We need your help to tear down and load-out of the Civic Center.  We will have several items needing to be packed and you'll assist where needed.
