Jason Hardy

jasonhardyI am a self taught artist living/working in Southwest Louisiana. I specialize in fantasy art with forays into other areas that interest my pencil like drawings and paintings inspired by movies, comics, horror or Sci-Fi. I would consider myself an illustrator. Generally I try to tell a story with each work or interpret a favorite scene or character using my imagination. By day I teach, by night I sleep. I'm also a poet. Mainly humorous rhymes that pop into my head from time to rhyme...I mean time. I'm a big Star Trek-TOS fan and enjoy writing humorous poems about the episodes called Redshirt Rhymes. I have been energized enough to write twenty so far. On media: I prefer to use very basic materials in my art. Prismacolor pencils, Sharpie markers, DecoArt acrylic paint, Marvy markers. I've even used toilet paper. No butts about that. Other interests frequently include: The Rocketeer, collecting comic/fantasy statues, Hammer Horror films, James Bond films, Pin Up art and my black cat Raven. Finally, I am fairly well edjikated having gradjiated from LSU and from spending the majority of my life stuck in high school. I'm hoping to pass away one day in. The distant future with a pencil in my teeth. Preferably sharpened. The pencil, not the teeth.
