03022015 Update

Let the countdown to BayouCon VII begin!

Whoo, it is been quite a while since we last updated our website and the News section.  But not to worry, we have a lot of exciting things to let you know about.  The biggest if our announcements is the move to the West Cal Events Center in Sulphur, La.  This is a brand new modern convention center that is just 10 minutes from our previous location at the Lake Charles Civic Center.  We have entered into a multiyear deal with the event center to secure our future for the coming years.  There are many amenities at this center which will make the convention run more smoothly, plus there are real actual breakout rooms so we will feel, finally, like a true convention.  You all have asked us to addres this issue, and we are positive that this will alleviate any problems.  Additionally, we are expanding the gaming area with nonstop table top, videogaming, and more going on throught the convention.

As far as our hotel, we have secured a deal with the Wingate hotel near the Event Center.  We will be posting information on this as soon as we finalize our contract.  We are pleased to again be working with the Wingate hotel.

There will be a slew of media guests at BayouCon this year of which include Todd Haberkorn, Sonya Thompson, John Mangus, and we will have some secret surprise major guests to be announced in the coming months.  We are always committed to bringing the very best celebrities that love to interact with all of the fans.  In addition to our media guests, we are continuing to add Fan Groups, Artists, and Authors.  As a matter of fact, our applictions for each of these can now be found under the Registration tab so be sure to check that out.

Tickets go on sale around the 15th of March, be sure to stand by for availability.

That's it for now, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make BayouCon more enjoyable for each of you.

-Cheers

Update 5/7/2014

We are just a little over a month away from BayouCon 2014!  We wanted to remind everyone about our GOLD VIP memberships available for just $100.  They come with some pretty exciting things so be sure to check out the registration page for all the details.

We would like to thank Artist Johnny Segura for crafting our 2014 artwork. This is a truly magnificant piece that we are excited to showcase at this year's event.

In addition to the already great fan groups coming out, we are also excited to welcome Tim & Tom the Dalek along with Fans for Christ Kitt Car!  Plus, we will also have a Tardis on display so get your favorite Doctor Who cosplay ready!  Speaking of Doctor Who we are also welcoming to our show the Consortium of Genius band.  Don't miss their performance on Saturday evening.

Don't you like free swag?  This year we have received some awesome prizes from some great convention friends Diamond Select and Best-Lock Toys.  Included with our Gold membership will be some of the toys courtesy of Best-Lock.  We thank them for their support.

Finally, many of you have been asking about volunteer opportunities.  We will be posting those soon, keep checking out the Registration page for additional details.

Thank you for your support, we can't wait to see all of you this June.

Greetings and welcome to the all new BayouCon website.  We are so excited to launch a brand new website in 2014!  You can expect to see some exciting things here as we get read for our next program.

We have been hard at work since the last event in 2013 and appreciate all of your support in making our 5th annual event the most successful to date.  Because you asked for it, we are adding more quality media guests to our program.  We are excited to announce our lineup for media guests with Cliff Simon from Stargate SG-1; Jeremy Inman - voiceover actor for Dragonball Z; John Mangus; and Jame Levert.  We will have a few more guests to announce as the event gets closer including someone from the Walking Dead!  Some of our other guests include Larry Nemecek who plays Doctor Leonard McCoy on the fan series Star Trek Continues.  Of course we will also have plenty of great fan groups, artists, and authors on hand.  Speaking of those, we have also opened our registration for those wishing to participate as an Artist, Author, or Fan Group.  You can find out more by visiting this link.  We also have launched the application for those wishing to put on a panel.  There is a lot in store for the next BayouCon so become a part of this great event today.
